Hi, my name is Janina and I have
been knitting and crocheting since the age of 4yrs. old when my mother started
teaching me. I’m originally from Poland and all my life I have made sweaters,
afghans, toys, baby items etc. etc. for family and friends.
It is in fact my family and friends that convinced me to go on line with
my afghans. I am presently making baby items for our local hospital as a
volunteer but prefer to stay with one type of item on my website for now.
I love to make afghans and in fact when I lived in Florida I use to do
many of the outdoor shows in my city. No
two afghans are exactly alike. Besides
changing the color and the type of fringe on an afghan, I love to fool around
with stitches, patterns, needle size and weight in afghans. Personally, I love
solid color afghans, done with double strands of yarn so that the stitches are
big and bold. But I also enjoy
afghans made in several colors that match a décor perfectly.
All my afghans are made in a smoke free, animal free environment with
acrylic yarns, unless otherwise stated.
I use various brands of yarn because there are always news yarns coming
on the market that are wonderfully soft and great to work with.
Many of my afghans are make, however, with Red Heart Yarn and Bernat Yarn. All the yarns
are new yarn.
I have learned that it is the abuse of afghans and their improper care
that predicts the longevity of an
afghan. I have some afghans from my
Mom that are over 40 yrs. old and still look great. I hope my afghans will give
people many years of comfort, beauty and style.
I will constantly be adding new afghans to my website, so if you don’t see quite what your looking for, come back and visit. It may be there next time. Also I will take orders to make any afghan you see if it’s not available or not in your color-only if my schedule allows. So please e-mail me to find out if this can be done in a reasonable frame of time. This of course would have to be prepaid so that I could get the yarn etc.
Lastly, I want to tell you that I price the afghans by an
old craft formula that involves how much money you spend on materials-making
some of my prices lower then many. If
I save, you save. That’s why each
afghan is priced separately. A
change in pattern , material or size, can change the price of an afghan. I never liked doing the same thing over and over.
After all variety is the spice of life.
So please shop my website whenever you like. I love beautiful afghans and have them all over my house. Hope you will love them too. Janina
