BF2 1.5 Patch?

- I'll believe it when I see it. Rumour has it that another patch for BF2 was being released. It didn't come but the rumors persist. It's anyone's guess if it will actually happen.

Forgotten Hope 2 released

- Forgotten Hope 2 has finally been released . 2 years after the original BF2 was released, the popular mod for BF1942 has been completed for BF2. Forgotten Hope 2 hopes to convert BF2 into a WWII shooter, leaning more towards realism then strictly gameplay as its motivation.

Made 2nd Lieutenant.

60,000 pts. -Not that I've ever been big on stats or awards but they are good for following one's personal progress. While the mile stones are simply numbers picked out of a hat they are mile stones never the less. Personally a mile stone for me is something that comes with drugery since I don't do a lot of the things in BF2 that accumulate many points per round. I don't gun in choppers, fly jets or command. 3 of the biggest things that rack up big point totals if you do them well. I've mostly been squad leading which is if done correctly is a a tedious endeavor of staying alive and actually avoiding the enemy. disfigured @ BF2S . This milestone puts me out of the NCO ranks and into the officers. It's the largest point leap I've ever had. So instead of chevrons of some type next to my name I have officers bars. So it does effect me in game in the fact that I'm seen as something different by others who place an importance on that. I even took a screen shot to commerate it.

Left BA

I've left BA. After removing my tags for a few nights and playing as an entity unto myself, I found myself liberated having to not worry about what kind of an example I'm presenting. I think the game itself has started to become frustrating when playing with other players who don't know squat. Players who join your squad but don't spawn on you, people who don't defend the only spawn that will keep you from getting raped by planes all night long, these are just a few of the things that are starting to irritate me to the point were I'm being a dick.

Plus a good majorit of the guys who I liked to play with moved on to PR. I should have kept playing PR, but I didn't put the time into it and it's not a casual mod, you need to work at play PR to get good at it.

It's not that BA members do these things, but when I find my self on other servers with the BA tags on I have to curb by anger. Last night a commander jumped in my buggy after I had loaded C4 onto it. I used the in game VOIP and told him "Get the fuck out of the driver's seat you fuckstick". He turned out to be some 13 year old uterus dropping who said something lame so I set off the C4 Tkin'g our commander and told him don't ever steal a buggy on me because you'll get the same thing every time. I've essentially gone off the deep end and enjoy more doing what I think is fun in the game, which is wreaking as much havoc as I can. I've been using the C4 kit almost exclusively and been playing in wild west like servers that allow anything and every thing.

I'm also going to create contact page with my IMs, Utube page, MySpace and other contact and profile type things on it. I just noticed I don't even have an email address contact on the site.

New Map - With no fanfare what so ever, EA has slipped out a new Map for BF2. It's got Desert Combat and PR written all over it. Looks very similar to the larger maps from those two mods. Played the map tonight and it's pretty good. There's a very short view distance due to haze so the Jets have a tough time finding targets, so far. Time will tell with those nuts.

Eve of Destruction released

- This is the week for total conversion mods for BF2. Eve of Destruction has been released. Mostly an infantry mod rumor has it, but worth a look. EOD have been releasing versions of this mod since BF 1942. Although Forgotten Hope was my favorite back then, many people played and loved EOD. I'm downloading EOD now as we speak and will be reviewing it and Dcon very soon.

DC MOD released

- Makers of the mods for BF1942 have realeased their DesertCombat mod for BF2. Details and download mirrors can be found at DCON DL'd it and played a few minutes the other night. Started and ran without crashing so that's a good sign. There's been some reports about lag issues when flying, but it's the first release and I'm sure there's a patch comming soon. Game played seemed similar to Vanilla BF2 and the one map I played had a similar feel to it as the USI mod. Open desert ground, not a lot of cover and very vehicle reliant.

Accepted to BA

- After a probation period, I have now been accepted to BA or EastCoast Badasses. They play a lot of BF2 and ComannderHatch, NHRotax, IbleedGravy DiccontentOne all either belong to BA or frequent the server. I've met other BA members and they are all very mature and passionate about playing BF2, BF2 mods and other shit.

I've Left FLOT

- Due to some bad timing with the advent of BF2142, interest in BF2 seriously began lacking at FLOT. Not a big deal and not negative reflection on FLOT. They're all good guys and good players. It's just that the majority of them decided to lean towards 2142. My squad of regulars has all joined EASTCOAST BADASSES, so there's a possibility that I might join them. It makes sense. I end up playing with them or against them on any given night. BA's BF2 server is chuck full every night. They're eastcoast so that's cool. With all those things, it might be worth trying out for BA. Plus they dabble in laddering which I had assumed FLOT did, but was wrong. While I don't like the infantry only set up of most ladders, any type of competetive play in BF2 might just be fun.

POE2 Stats

POE stats.com has given it's basic premise for a stats and tracking system similar to the BF2 program.

BF2 1.41 Patch

EA has released possibly the last patch for BF2. There's no incremental, it updates all version to 1.41. The patch doesn't need to have a fresh install although it's being called a "full" patch. It's essentially a "full" and "incremental for all versions" patch. Which would indicate it may be the last one. EA is not posting it as part of their updates or in the patch and download history.
