Price Associates, Inc. (PAI) is a consulting firm specializing in risk assessment, regulatory analysis, and statistical/mathematical modeling. Since 1987, PAI has worked with clients nation-wide including industry associations, individual companies, law firms, and government agencies. Our consulting activities focus on the analysis of quantitative information used in risk management decisions. PAI consultants evaluate regulatory proposals and compliance decisions, design exposure studies and monitoring programs, and conduct statistical analysis of chemical, medical, toxicological, ecological, engineering, and financial data. Development of Bacteria Source Tracking (BST) models and application of the models to identify sources of bacteria in Maryland's surface waters.
- Development and evaluation of anthrax risk-based sampling designs to detect and measure Bacillus anthracis spore concentrations on surfaces in US Postal Service processing facilites.
- Compilation and analysis of emissions, toxicity, and risk data for ethylene glycol mono-butyl ether (EGBE), formaldehyde, and other chemicals listed in Section 112 of the Clean Air Act as hazardous air pollutants, to prepare a Subcategory delisting petition filed with EPA by the Can Manufacturers Institute for the two-piece beverage can Subcategory
- Statistical analysis conducted for the Carbon Disulfide Panel of the American Chemistry Council establishing a Benchmark Concentration leading to EPA's Reference Concentration (RfC) for carbon disulfide
- Review and analysis conducted for the Brake Manufacturers Council Product Environmental Committee to evaluate studies and regulatory initiatives concerning the contribution of brake pad wear debris to the copper load discharged into the Lower South San Francisco Bay
- Analysis and evaluation of arguments for class certification in mass tort litigation
- Review and development of statistical approaches for assessing risk associated with exposure to mixtures of chemicals in the environment
- Analysis of NCI's SEER cancer database to evaluate trends and project lifetime mesothelioma risk
- Analysis and projections of future claims of asbestos-related disease
- Design and data analysis for a study to support a Negative Exposure Assessment for maintenance activities involving asbestos-containing materials and lead-based paint in U.S. Postal Service facilities
- Analysis of measurements of airborne asbestos and projection of asbestos exposure for workers conducting routine maintenance and repair activities (included by OSHA in the preamble to its asbestos construction standard - 59 FR 40964 August 10, 1994)
- Analysis and comments prepared for the Non-Hazwaste Burner Cement Kiln Dust Coalition (CKD) on EPA's proposed rule under RCRA addressing CKD management
- Review of health risks, regulations, and legislative initiatives to assess the future of lead as a viable material in commercial products
