The first 5 pictures were taken on Alumni Day, May 13, 2000, with a digital camera set at medium resolution. Click on the smaller pictures to retrieve a larger version. Use back to return to this page to view another picture. (The second set of thumbnails take you to Peirce's album in a separate window.)

The Azaleas were early this year, but there were enough still in bloom to remind one how dazzling they are each spring.

Vignette Bill Craighead was a coach and teacher at George School from 1952 through 1967. He went into government service after that as a biologist, with a specialty in Azaleas. It is little known that while at George School Bill honed his skill at propagating azaleas, and indeed is responsible for many of those we see today. Thank you Bill for the color we now enjoy so much! |
