Mary Harding Sadler received her BA degree cum laude from Williams College in 1977 with a major
in Art History. She received a Masters Degree in Architecture from the University
of Virginia in 1981. She has worked eight years in the public sector, as Senior
Architect with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources, and in the |
private sector as a staff architect and specification writer for various Richmond
architectural firms. She is a licensed architect in the State of Virginia. Her
practice has consistently focused on the adaptive reuse of historic properties
in the Commonwealth. She has lectured throughout the state and has written numerous
articles related to her practice. As a historical architect she has helped
public and private property owners identify significant features of their historic
properties and generate strategies that are appropriate for their development. Because of her familiarity with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and their application in a wide range of projects, Mimi is able to anticipate and alleviate the concerns of both clients and the reviewing agencies. This knowledge and ability enable her to help projects meet schedule and funding goals. Her knowledge of state and federal program requirements as well as her knowledge of current historic preservation practice and methodology is comprehensive. |
