My Sport

It's finally time,
after hours, days, long years.
The butterflies are ready,
already unleashing their power.
The next three minutes are mine.
The ice shines,
my heart shakes.

I take my pose,
music booms through the crowd.
My blades carry me through
the story, my legend.
The song ends, I leave,
smiling.

Looking back at the ice,
I see my life flash before my eyes.
Memories.
Happy streams cool down my face.
The perfect sixes spread across the board.
The Olympic dream,
gold, in my sport.
