I am looking for other skate parents. My daughter is 13 and has been skating 2 1/2 years. She works very hard, and I am so pleased she found something she loves so much! She lands several double jumps, but not too consistently yet, and is working on intermediate MIF. She is a member of an Intermediate Precision team. Her skating is a lot of fun, but also a lot of driving, early and late hours and TONS of money! I'd love to expand my skate parent circle beyond the rinks we frequent.

Presently I am in the 2nd (of 3) "Learn-To-Skate" sessions with ambitions to practice suficiently to eventually participate in the Adult Nationals.  Presnetly my skill level is very low (I have to "re-learn" everything I originally learned twenty years ago, ...and I am just learning to do forward crossovers).  I only wish there was more information regarding "Adult" figureskating, self-training (for those of us on limited budgets and big-BIG ambiitons), and sports psychology.  Anyone with related information, I hope that you are willing to share with me and we can exchange notes.

Looking for other figure skaters in the New Orleans area to start a club. Just moved to New Orleans, Louisianna. The nearest rink is 90 minute drive and it only offers hockey. Before moving here I skated every day, I'm bummed to say the least. I hope by forming a club we can purchase a block of time at this rink.

Hi, I'm 42 years old and my 12 year old daughter has been skating for just over two years, she is Preliminary level soon to do her Elimentary test. My daughter is also a Synchro skater and has just come back from competing in her first Nationals where her team won the Gold Medal! I'm just so glad that she has found something she is passionate about, it's very contagous and I am just as passionate as her about skating now. I would love to write to another mum and learn about the differences and similarities about skating from another country. I'm sure we have many of the same stories to tell, the search for program music, costume design and the various other ups and downs of skating. I look forward to hearing from you.

I took up ice skating last September at the tender age of 51 after having them on only 4 times before in my life. In December I performed both the Swing Dance and the 14 Step in front of an audience with a partner who has been skating many years. I was able to do this as I've been a competitive artistic roller skater for the last 8 years and a National Finalist in Masters Team Dance. I've also won a Solo Dance title at Nationals in the Junior Olympics Division.
