How old is too old to be skating?

How old do you think is too old to be skating. My daughter is 18 years old and compete at the Prelim. level. She loves it but I wonder if she too old to be still competing. She has a lot of success at her level and is learning picking up on the jumps pretty quickly, ( it took her a month to land an axel) And she doesn't look 18 and nobody at the rink seems to have a problem with it and neither does her coach. Is this a problem I should be worrying about or not? Claire

It doesn't sound like this is a problem you should be concerned about. Your daughter sounds as if she is happy competing at preliminary and has the support of her coach.  You can probably not worry about her age. If she becomes unhappy then you may want to reconsider her competing. Having a good time is also important and it sounds as if she has been successful.
