What is "Starcrosser Landfall"?

An artifact of this earlier title can be found in the first book's Library of Congress information!

One might postulate that Starcrosser Landfall was a somewhat awkward title that doesn't let you know that there is any connection to Wolfe's acclaimed and successful Book of the New Sun. Was Wolfe pressured to change it for commercial reasons? Or was the Starcrosser title initially forced on him? Probably not, but it's happened before.

All in all it's not a very good title anyway.

But it reveals some interesting things:

• The name of the ship is the Starcrosser. None of the books have stated this directly.
• The story is going to lead up to the arrival of the ship at it's planned destination. The title of the final book (Exodus from the Long Sun) tells us that as well.
