Children and Youth

     We welcome to our staff as Director of Children and Youth Ministries Sarah Morehouse.  Sarah is a recent graduate of Asbury College, Wilmore, Kentucky, where she majored in Youth Ministry and recently received her Bachelor of Arts.  Sarah heard her call to ministry as a youth in her home United Methodist Church in Bethel, Ohio.  She has worked as a volunteer youth leader for the last four years at Nathaniel United Methodist Mission in Lexington, Kentucky.  Those who know her best describe Sarah as a person of prayer and personal integrity with a passion for children’s and youth ministry.  As part of her philosophy of ministry, Sarah writes: 

     ” I believe one of the valuable gains of Inca national ministry is the chance to teach at every moment.  In the church itself the environment should be a safe, nurturing place, where there is freedom to explore, play, and to be loved.  Certainly as their minds are developing ideas about the Christian faith children and youth (as well as new believers and adults) should be surrounded by a Christian community in order to learn by example.  Ideally the members of the home and the church would be empowered by the Holy Spirit, pursuing a dynamic, radical relationship with Jesus Christ.” 

     We are pleased to have her heading up our children and youth ministries as of June 1, 2006.
