ANGEL FOOD MINISTRY AT COVENANT
UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
AN INVITATION TO EVERYONE, AND
EVERYONE ELSE
- Regarding a new and unique, ‘hands-on’
ministry at Covenant UMC: The ‘Angel Food Ministry’ in Lancaster County,
Penna.
-
- For a number of months we have been
sharing the good news in the ECHO Newsletter, Worship Bulletins, and meetings.
We are now ready for the next step and are inviting you to pray and consider
being one of fifty (50) Volunteers.
-
- The Good Lord has been leading us as an
outgrowth of two of the
- ‘Purpose Driven Small Groups’ led by Dolly
Kepner and the late Pastor Hastings. Here are some of the joyful leadings of
the Lord:
-
- The first ‘Angel Food Ministry’ printed news
came from college student David Spece, who grew up in Covenant Church..
-
- David brought the information home and shared
it with his parents,
- Larry & Jeannine Spece.
-
- The Spece’s shared it with Pastor Hastings.
-
- Pastor Hastings shared it with our two
‘Purpose Driven’ Small Groups who voted to take it forward.
-
- He then shared this with our ‘Church & Society
Team’ led by Martha Lehn. It was decided to take it further, step by step.
-
- Senior Pastor Larry Leister was informed and
encouraged the first small group to move ahead.
-
- Bill & Nancy Grau volunteered to be our ‘Team
Leaders.
-
- In the four months, February, March, April,
May, we have had rapid growth.
-
- In June or July, 2007, we expect to become the
first members of the National Angel Food Ministry in Lancaster.
-
- PRAISE GOD from whom all blessings flow. AMEN.
