Space: The Final Tourist Trap

Lucius M. Monkey

(CNN) -- Dennis Tito and Mark Suttleworth have both plunked down nearly $20 million and opened the portals of space to tourism. Speculation has already started as to who will be the third to make the trip of a lifetime.

The newest rumors surround a genteel sock monkey named Lucius M. Monkey. While Lucius has proven to be rather elusive, it appears that he is currently in Star City, Russia investigating future tourism opportunities.

While still a ride only available to the very rich, the trip out of this world is becoming a dream that money can buy and no longer only available to highly-trained space travelers.

With Russia needing the money these trips can provide for their tenuous economy, this trend is something that is only going to grow. And like any good trend, many different companies want a piece of the space tourism market.
