Mrs. Diana McNamara
Mrs. Diana McNamara has been teaching at La Salle Academy for 7 years. She graduated from Widener University cum laude with a B.S. degree in Marketing Management. She was a member of Alpha Chi Honor Society for Economics and the Society for the Advancement of Management. Mrs. McNamara started her career as a public relations coordinator before spending 15 years in higher education administration at Widener University, Kutztown University, Reading Area Community College, and Harcum College. She is a member of NCEA. For the past 3 years she has designed, created, and presented WebQuests at the annual conference for librarians. Currently, Mrs. McNamara teaches both library and computer classes for all students at La Salle Academy. She maintains over 70 computers both within the computer lab and within the classrooms. In addition, she maintains over 10,000 books in the library. She developed the automated library cataloging system which monitors the outgoing and returning of books.
Mrs. McNamara is La Salle's Technology Coordinator as well as La Salle's Library Coordinator. She serves as secretary to La Salle's Advisory Board.
Fun Computer Activities for La Salle Students:
Junior High students participate in the Pennsylvania Middle School Computer Fair where they demonstrate their computer skills. Students develop public speaking skills through Power Point presentations in grades 3 through 8. Mrs. McNamara works closely with teachers to enhance research and reporting skills necessary to writing research papers.
Fun Library Activities for La Salle Students:
Students experience the pleasure of reading, writing, and story-telling through numerous activities. Mystery Quarter encourages students to become part of the mystery by becoming detectives searching for clues. Library skills and research skills are taught at all levels. In addition, special programs featuring local authors and illustrators are held to enhance the curriculum.
