Rosie can really warm up a room. And it's not just her personality
Rosie can REALLY warm up a room. When she's angry or excited, her pink skin
gets redder and redder -- which makes the room get hotter and hotter. She's
been known to accidentally set off sprinkler systems every once in awhile.
Rosie comes from Mercury. She's well-liked among the Space Cases, although
they sometimes find her unbelievably upbeat attitude a little annoying. But
Rosie's got her reasons for being so cheerful all the time. Remember, if
she gets upset, the rest of the Space Cases have to deal with all that heat
radiating from her skin. Rosie is also the only Space Case who has become
friends with Radu. Besides, SOMEBODY'S got to keep the morale up when they've
got a bummer like Bova around.

Vital Statistics:
-
Height: 4'11 (Alien/Earth Standard)
-
Weight: 90 lbs (and the more she heats up, the lighter she becomes)
-
Birthday: 32nd day of You, in or around Earth Year 2248
-
Homeworld:
-
Mercury Colony. Mercurians rarely stroll around on the surface of their planet
(which, at 1300 degrees Farenheit, is a bit toasty even for them). Instead,
their domed cities are climate and gravity controlled.
-
Powers:
-
Rosie can absorb heat and release
it, either in waves or concentrated blasts. Her body temperature
is 200 degrees.
-
Interests:
-
Rosie loves animals: both real and
stuffed. She has several stuffed animals that she
found in the Christa's cargo hold. Back home on Mercury, she has
two pets: Sunspot and Nimbus. She has on several occasions tried
to make pets out of creatures she found. She is also interested
in medicine, and thinks about becoming a doctor like her
parents.
-
Relationships:
-
Rosie makes it a point to get along with everyone. The motto of Mercurians
is "always look on the sunny side of the street" which is easy on Mercury
(where both sides of the street are sunny).
-
Family:
-
Rosie's parents are doctors. Their names are
Gunter and Dalia Ianni.
-
FYI:
-
Rosie always remains upbeat, because if she gets angry or upset, she tends
to overheat. This could result in people near her getting burned, or the
overhead sprinkler system coming on and dousing her.
-
Like everyone from Mercury, Rosie has no body hair at all, because her skin
temperature is so hot that it burns right off. At the beginning of the crew's
journey, Rosie usually wore either a regulator helmet
or hood to contain her body heat (since heat tends
to escape out of the top of people's heads), although we saw her head uncovered
when she made the family-tree tape for class and when she ran out of the
shower when Davenport was trapped in the computer. But as she's gotten older,
she's become more skilled at containing her body heat, so she's ditched the
hood much of the time in favor of a Mercurian "sweat
band" which is usually all she needs now to regulate her
heat.
