Information:
Zachariah, during the Revolution, lived at Salisbury and owned 700 acres of land there. His branch of the family came to Orange County in the early days. in 1776 he received a commision of Major in Col. Woodhull's regiment of militia from Govenor Clinton. He served on various occasions until 1780.

Opn October 6, 1777 he was taken prisoner at the capture of Fort Montgomery. He remained so for 10 months when he was exchanged for Colonel Moncrief.
