Information:
They settled at Nescatuck, now called Libertyville. The exact spot where Louis built his home is not known, but in 1968 there are remains of an old foundation on the property of John B. Guttman in the vicinity of the present Ulster County Farm, south of the site of his brother Solomon's house.
In an ancient document the name of Louis DuBois Jr. Appears with the title of Captain. On the New Paltz Assessment list 1-16-1713, he is assessed for 75 acres. In 1720 he is listed as assisting to build the first Stone Church. Descendants went to Broome and Tioga counties in New York, as well as Lycoming County, PA. Later generations were in Jackson County, Mich.
