Lucius Webb 1813




	Lucius Webb was born on June 8, 1813 in Philadelphia, Pa. About 1835 he married Catherine Preston Brearley. Catherine was born on April 17, 1818. Catherine died at age 72 on January 3, 1890 in Philadelphia. Lucius died at age 56 on February 4, 1869 from the effects of a fall at the U.S. Navy Yard in Philadelphia. The 1840 and 1850 Federal Census list the family in Wards 5 and 3 in Southwark, Philadelphia, Pa. In 1850 Lucius occupation was of a Ships Carpenter. The 1860 Census finds the family in Philadelphia, Ward 1, Precent 4 where he is listed as a Shipwright.
	Confirmation is not yet made on the parents of Lucius Webb. The 1830 and 1820 Southwark Philadelphia census records list a Rebecca Webb with male children that are of Lucius' age. In the Pennsylvania Marriages prior to 1810 of Christ Church, Philadelphia 1709-1806 there is a marriage of one Rebecca Betterton and Thomas Webb on April 12, 1800. Possibly the parents of Lucius but yet confirmed.

	Catherine and Lucius had ten children: Robert, b. June 11, 1835 / d. April 6, 1839 - died 3 years 10 months of age Mary, b. July 2, 1837 , m. Lafferty Robert Lawrence, b. October 3, 1839 / d. June 1881 Elize, b. March 15, 1842 William Montville, b. April 13, 1844 Jehu Curtis Clay, b. February 26, 1847 / d. February 2, 1907 George, b. in 1849 Rachel b. in 1850 / d 1854 - 4 years of age Lucius Jr. b. 1852 / d. 1853 Kate, b. 1855
