May 28, 1998: Deep Creek
Alt Escape is launched! Finally! Solo motored around the corner into Deep Creek and over to slip #513. Engine started on third pull. Got out of Fairwinds and into slip with a minimum of fuss--everything went well and the boat is all tied up.

May 31, 1998: Magothy River
Took Jeff Platts out for a shakedown cruise. Got into the Magothy, but winds had built above 15 knots? Hard to tell, but there were whitecaps on the river. Decided to wait before raising sails for a better day. Still, all in all a good test. No water in the boat, keel went down then up without incident. Need to tighten the starboard shrouds a bit more.
