Available Software & Data:

• CD#1: DEMconverter program and data sampler including "100 DEMs" Showing the Physiographic Provinces of the Continental United States. This data has 30 m data spacing. $20

• CD#2: DTED Level 0 extensive DEM coverage, on a single CD to work with simple graphical selection using the freeware MICRODEM program. This data has about 1 km resolution, and shows the gross features of the earth's surface. CD#8: SRTM-30 is probably a better data set. This was developed using DTED® Level 0, produced by the National Imagery and Mapping Agency. $18

• CD#3: GTOPO30 near global coverage DEM coverage, reformatted to fit on a single CD and work with simple graphical selection using the freeware MICRODEM program. This data has about 1 km resolution, and shows the gross features of the earth's surface. CD#8: SRTM-30 is probably a better data set. $18

• Complete USGS 1:250K DEM. This data set has elevations every 3" (often loosely referred to as 100 m postings). This data is in the compressed GZIP format as supplied on the USGS servers. It works directly as supplied with simple graphical selection using the freeware MICRODEM program. CDs #4 and #5 have a two degree overlap, and different numbers of DEMs because the flatlands in the east compress better than the mountains in the west.

  • CD#4: Eastern US. This CD contains 627 DEMs with a western boundary at 106°W longitude. This CD also includes Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. $18

  • CD#5: Western US. This CD contains 369 DEMs with an eastern boundary at 104°W longitude. This CD also includes the Hawaiian islands. $18

  • CD#6: Alaska. This CD contains 428 DEMs. $18

• CD#7: GLOBE near global coverage DEM coverage, reformatted to fit on a single CD and work with simple graphical selection using the freeware MICRODEM program. This data has about 1 km resolution, and shows the gross features of the earth's surface.  CD#8: SRTM-30 is probably a better data set. $18 

• CD#8: SRTM-30 near global coverage DEM coverage, reformatted to fit on a single CD and work with simple graphical selection using the freeware MICRODEM program. This data has about 1 km resolution, and shows the gross features of the earth's surface. This is the most recent and probably best of the 30 second data.  $18

Note that DTED Level 0, GTOPO30, and GLOBE are very similar data sets. GTOPO30 used DTED Level 0, and GLOBE used GTOPO30.

• Special #1: Any three CDs for $50.

• Special #2: All seven CDs for $80.

Custom Data CDs:

We will create custom data CDs for your choice of region, with two data series:

• USGS 1:24K DEMs: we will provide all 1:24K DEMs available on the USGS server for a state or rectangular region. Priced $35 per CD; we will increase the size of the region to fill the CD. The entire USGS coverage consists of about 7.5 GB, and would require 15 CDs. This comes with a data base that allows you to sort and query all DEMs, and rapidly load any you desire. Contact us with questions about your region of interest.
• Census Bureau Tiger 99 files: we will provide all counties for any state (or adjacent states for the smaller eastern states if the two neighbors will fit on a single CD). Priced $35 per CD; contact us for the number of CDs you require. We can also eliminate unnecessary files, which can cut the size required by one half. This comes with a data base cataloging all the TIGER data
