Launch 2
- Black Rocket/A
- Date: July 11, 1999
- Event: METRA
- Motor: Aerotech J-275 Reloadable
- Electronics: P5
- Weight: 6lbs at weigh-in.
- Altitude achieved: the altimeter claimed 4760ft.
- Note 1: rocket simmed to 3960 feet, based on weigh-in at my local convenience store.
There is obviously a
discrepency here: either one of the scales was off by 25-33%, the thin air of the hot day made for a higher than
expected flight, the altimeter reading was wrong, or the motor was at the high-end of the total impulse range. While
I am a trusting kind of guy, I think I'll test our local store's scale with a known weight (e.g. a six-pack of beer.)
- Note 2: pulled out a bulkhead at Apogee separation.
- BFR-1/A
