Front Plate (with f-holes and with bass bar) Frequency Response

Frequency response
Previous --- Home --- Next

Front plate frequency response after the f-holes have been cut and the bass bar has been installed.
Adding the bar breaks the symmetry of the plate making the spectrum more complex; a new resonance appears at 390 Hz.
The peaks all shift up in frequency due to the added stiffness. The front plate Mode 5 is tuned roughly a semitone lower than that of the back plate.
(Again, the measured peaks are about 5 Hz lower than the tap tones probably due to the extra mass of the driver coil.)
137 Hz is C#-, 262 is middle C, 320 is between Eb and E, 390 is G-, and 444 is A+.
