Day 3

The Cabanas at Chaa Creek

 

Our first full day began with a flock of parrots squawking loudly at 4:30AM - we weren't yet used to the sounds of the jungle and were all surprised by the noise. Our first order of business was a Belizean breakfast - eggs, refried beans, mystery meat hash, tortillas and fresh fruit. After breakfast we filled up our water bottles and prepared to set out mountain biking.

This fellow watched us eat breakfast at Chaa Creek and never once suggested we ditch the tortillas in favor of Fruit Loops.

 

Potable water is always an issue in Belize. Here Anne pumps well water through a filter into her water bottles.
