I received my first amateur radio license at the age of 17 in 1937 with call sign W4ERE in Tampa, Florida. After being inactive from 1973 to 1993, I received the current Extra Class license as AA3FX in September 1993. I operate both CW and SSB on 80 through 10 meters, and also FM on 2 meters, both base and mobile.  Our son, John J., is licensed as N3PZY.

I enjoy playing both classical and theatre style music on the organ. The picture below is the Rodgers T-927 organ
installed in our home. I play music from Bach through more modern composers such as Vierne and Elmore, also
improvisations in theatre style from "fake books". In November 2003 I took and passed the American Guild of Organists (AGO) examination for the Service Playing Certificate. The certificate attests to ones ability as a qualified organist. The exam consisted of playing Bach's "Fugue in C", Vierne's "Berceuse", Langlai's "Pastaccio", transposing up and down at sight a well known hymn, several hymns with improvisations, a psalm, two anthems, and then "sight reading" a short piece of music I had never seen before.
