A FATHERS DAY THOUGHT
For a special daughter

I look out my window and what do I see.
Butterflies, green grass, and a beautiful tree.
It makes me think of all the pretty things,
and the special pleasures that life brings.

Swimming, baseball, golfing, and such.
All the things I like so much.
But most of all as I sit here typing,
I think of a girl that's so exciting.

Her name is Morgan, and she's my kid.
I remember all the cool things we did.
Like playing games and going to the park.
We'd act so silly, and tease for a lark.

I wish she was here, but woe is me.
She lives in Columbus with her mommy.
So every day, I take the time to say
I love you Morgan, in a special way.

And what about good Home the Cat.
She always wonders where you're at.
I know she's really lonely, too.
She'll only croutch and hiss for you.

So when the sun comes up on Father's Day
I'll have this thought and dream away.
"We miss you Mog. It makes us sad.
But ain't it great to be a dad!"

A HAIKU FOR YOU

Her name is Morgan.
A special daughter she is.
An inspiration.

She gets me to write.
Poems, letters, and much more.
Oregon Trail lore.

I dream of a day.
College degree in her hand.
To feel a Dad's pride.

I am not alone.
The dream is not just my own.
Her skills she has shown.

Her report card glows.
An excellent thing to see.
Not a "C" in sight.

Lots of A's and B's.
How could we ask her for more?
She yearns for 4-oh.

Teachers say she's great.
"Lots of effort." "A pleasure."
"Works hard." "Good Student."

She has what it takes.
Her goal is within her reach.
I think she'll make it.

Just try. Be your best.
It matters not if you lose.
Effort is what counts.

I'm so proud of you.
You're such a special daughter.
Morgan, I love you.

Love, Daddy
