Compagnons are: " individual members of utmost distinguished secretive or non-secretive societies which regroup individuals of a similar aptitude or profession."
In France Compagnonage represents the Grand-Masters
(Grand Maitre) of a profession or society.
The " compagnonage has it's origin since antiquity.
One of the first "compagnonage" created was actually the "compagnonage
des maitres patissiers" regrouping master chefs.
Objective of the Order:
This Order has for objective to recognize Professors of Savate that have contributed greatly in the development of Savate throughout the United States of America.
A "Companion of the Great Order of Savate" is an accepted member of the utmost distinguished society who has made significant contribution to the development of Savate in the United States. This Order is now registered by the American Registry of Savate Instructor and Clubs-International.
Only Savate professors can enter this
orders and allow other to gain entrance. Once a Professeur is member of
this secretive society the Professors title becomes "Compagnon de la Savate
©
" and is referred to as
Compagnon©
(or Grand-Maitre of Savate ©
).
For a Savate Professeur to become "Compagnon (TM)" or "Grand Maitre of Savate (TM)" he/she must satisfy one of two requirements:
1)
a) Be a B.E.E.S. "Brevet d'Etat d'Educateur
Sportif "(Boxe Francaise Savate or Canne de Combat) Professeur.
b) Contributed greatly (as recognized by the
board of the Great Order) in assisting in the development of Savate in
the USA Savate (including Canne and Baton).
2)
a) Be a Professeur of Savate from one of the
ARSIC-International approved, recognized or registered US Savate association/
Federation (USBFSDA, FIBFSDA, TABFSAD, PFBFSAD, CABFSAD, etc...).
b) Requesting and providing a letter of recommendation from one of the "Compagnon de la Savate" to the Great Order itself , or accepting entrance within the Great Order .
c) Having made significant contribution to the Sport/ Martial Art of Savate within the United States.
d) Continually making significant contributions to the development of Savate within the US (A yearly Summary of these contribution may be required to maintain companionship within the Great Order. )
e) Providing a notorized copy of the "professeur
of Savate" Diploma.
