REGISTERED RANK BADGES=Uniformity

During the month of April 2000, your organization, the American Registry of Savate Instructors and Clubs- International has been working actively in trying to set up the "uniformity program for cohesion" Such program has the objective to facilitate cohesiveness of the various clubs registered by ARSIC-International while allowing them to maintain independence. The first step of this program was to increase the felling of uniformity of all ARSIC registered clubs. ARSIC- International Certified savateurs can now obtain rank badges that are registered by ARSIC-International identifying them as member of the American Registry of Savate. The badges have an additional feature clearly showing and identifying savateurs actually registered by ARSIC International: these badges carry the ARSIC- International internationally trade marked seal of excellence.

ARSIC-International believes that these badges will allow various clubs working autonomously to have patches all identical and similar in nature. Such uniformity will increase the spirit of cohesion between each and all individual registered clubs, while still allowing each one to stay independent in nature.

The second step of this program was to create this ARSIC-newsletter. The newsletter idea came out of the ARSIC-News website. Such newsletter will provide information related from major event and local clubs news such as special seminars and trips from savateurs. It will also mention event such as rank examination and instructors promotions. Information can be provided by any savateur to the registry. Only one copy of the newsletter will be provided to instructor. The registered instructor or club can then make can then make copies for distribution to all students as a benefit for joining the club. It is suggested that copies of this newsletter be given only to clubs members. This is in order to increase the objective of the "uniformity Program".

ARSIC-International health staff requested to monitor USA-Boxing 2000 Junior Olympic fighters.

On April 30th 2000 the Mid-Atlantic Junior Olympic Boxing Competition was held at the Upper Darby, PA Police Athletic League Boxing Club. For the first time in USA Boxing History Olympic Competition a Savate organization was requested to contribute with such an historical event. French Humor... what do you expect...  :)
(Door sign: Please do not knock I am already KO)

The health staff carries a huge responsibility and authority. During a fight. Chief of Staff physician of any boxing competition can actually stop a fight for health related reasons (i.e. in the event of a standing knock out not obvious to the referee of the fight.

The request from USA-Boxing to have ARSIC-International health staff monitoring the competition show the degree of high standard reputation and trust in which ARSIC-International has grown to become.

Savate Technical Tips:

The length of a "direct’ or the first technical punch which is taught in Savate to Savateur can be increase by streching out the shoulder just before contact. This not only increase the length of the punch but also increase the power coming from the ground. As a reminder the power of all savate punches comes from the ground by specific techniques called techniques of power maximization. In the direct, the power is transmitted from the ground to the hip by the intermediary of the foot pressure on the ground. The power is then redirected from the hip to the shoulder and the extention of the shoulder facilitate transfer of this power to the elbow and finally to the 2 first knuckle prior to the hit itself.
