The Ministry of Inside ThingsPerforming Live 2008:
|
The Ministry of Inside Things will bring the order of the cosmos to the chaos of everyday life at public concerts this Summer.
![]() MoIT - live at Soundscapes 22Jun02 | The Ministry of Inside Things, includes Chuck van Zyl on synths and Art Cohen on guitar. Their music has been inspired by the Berlin-School of cosmic spacemusic and influenced by everything from sci-fi themes to nuclear fission to chillout room abstractions. The group's goal is to create in the mind of the listener a sense of movement through space along the arc of a dynamic contour. Owing much to improvisation, each original performance traverses a vast sonic terrain. Concerts conclude with the audience finding themselves to be in quite a different place after experiencing the journey. |
|
MoIT enjoys the live environment and uses it to further explore and invent their musical stylings. MoIT has in the past performed live on the radio shows: STAR'S END, EMUSIC and NOCTURNAL TRANSMISSIONS as well as part of the Gate to Moonbase Alpha, Soundscapes and The Gatherings concert series.
Continuing in 2008, MoIT will bring a live set of innovative spacemusic to an interesting range of events and venues. For more on The Ministry of Inside Things, please access the Home Page

Contact Point by The Ministry of Inside ThingsArt Cohen (electric guitar) and Chuck van Zyl (synths) have had the opportunity to play live at a variety of interesting venues over the past several years. While their music touches on many of the hallmarks of Berlin-School Spacemusic (cyclical sequencer patterns beneath soaring lead melodies contrasted by passages of deep synth tones and glissando guitar), they bring their own influences and innovation to the process. The result is a sound that is uniquely individual. Better known as The Ministry of Inside Things, the duo released their new CD at The Gatherings Concert Series on 20 May 2006. Music from Contact Point has been drawn from several live performances and features definitive live versions of classic MoIT pieces such as "Fortescue", "Serenity Cove" and "Nightscene". The disc plays for about one hour, easily flowing through a variety of themes, moods and styles of Spacemusic. Contact Point will be available at each of the MoIT Summer Tour Venues.
