The Nightengale

I don't have my lady love with me any more.
She lies beyond the castle gate and the postern door
But still I know love lingers
Within reach of my fingers
So love's merry singers
Can't cheer me anymore.

I met with a nightengale at the end of day.
I told him of my sorry tale ere he flew away.
Now my sad song he'll borrow,
Sing it 'til the morrow,
So she'll hear my sorrow
Until the break of day.

Noble bird here ends your part,
Found with a shaft straight through your heart.
The guardians of her tower grey
Thought that you were a bird of prey.

But still I know love lingers within reach of my fingers,
So loves merry singers can't cheer me anymore.
Because my song you'd borrow
You'll sing no more tomorrow
And I will know but sorrow
As I go on my way.

If You Come

(Refrain)
If you come my lady to a place that's shady
I will show you so much pleasure
Soon we shall be grasping at each other gasping
If you give to me your treasure.

You'll be scented sweetly while in our heat we
Warm each other with our passion
Grasping me so tightly, laughing in delight, we
Share each other in this fashion.

(Refrain)

If you tell me how your pastures I should plow
Then I shall place my plowshare to your furrow.
If you say plough deeply, gather me and reap me,
You will find that I'll not be demure. Oh,

(Refrain)

The Mongol
(sung to "The Boxer")

I am just a mongol and the story's often told,
How I swept down from the Gobi
With a quiver full of arrows and a recurve bow
Held in my hand
And leaving fire and slaughter as I rode across the land

When I left my home in Mongolia I was no more than a boy
In the midst of my sword brothers
As we swept across the Gobi desert riding hard
Through the night
But a man does what he's got to do if he's going to fight,
And put his scattered enemies to flight

And we'll ride! Yes, we'll ride an through the night!
And we'll ride! Yes, we'll ride on 'til we reach the morning light!

Asking only warrior's wages I come fighting for your gold,
And I won't take any prisoners
But I'll carry off your women on my pony's back.
I do proclaim
That each oneseems quite special, though I can't recall her name.

Now I'm counting out my booty and I dream of going home,
Going home.
But the Gobi's just a desert full of empty sand.
Pretty band at home,
At home.

In the square they're playing polo, it's an interesting game,
And the ball bears the reminder
Of every blow that swung down low and cut it, 'til we cried out,
In our anger and our pain,
"Oh, this head's far too mushy! It's a double header game!"

And we'll ride! Yes, we'll ride on through the night!
And we'll ride! Yes, we'll ride on 'til we reach the morning light!

Chivalry
(Sung to "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da")

Tristan was a fighter from a shire someplace.
He fought with sword and shield in hand.
He closed the heavy visor on his pretty face
And then he smiled as he went out to take his stand.

Isuelt was standing, watching by the lists that day,
The one that people call the fair.
She took her pretty scarf and gave it to Tristan
And it would be the only favor he would bear.

(Refrain)
Chivalry, chivalry shines on!
How the chivalry shines on!
Chivalry, chivalry shines on!
How the chivalry shines on!

In a couple of years they will build a household strong,
With a couple of squires and some men at arms,
And the children that they'll bring along.

Now Isuelt is a fighter from a shire someplace.
She fights with sword and shield in hand.
Tristan will close the visor on her pretty face
And watch the kids as she goes out to take her stand.

(Refrain)

It's a Long Way Around Duke Andrew
(sung to "It's a Long Way to Tippararry")

It's a long way around Duke Andrew!
It's a long way to go!
It's a long way around Duke Andrew
To the only killing blow!
Draw back and hit him harder!
God, why won't he die?
It's a long, long way around Duke Andrew,
So Andrew, bye bye!

Fortunes of the Dawn

The full moon shines above us and illuminates the land.
The hoofbeats sound of thunder as they pound across the sand,
And like the wind across the Gobi, or the ghosts of those who've died,
To seek the fortunes of the dawn, with the Great Dark Hoarde we ride!

For Yang gave us tommorrow, but that's still too far away,
So what we need and what we want is what we'll take today!
Your cities lie before us now like jewels washed in the tide!
To seek the fortunes of the dawn, with the Great Dark Hoarde we Ride!

And we'll ride into the night
And strike with the dawning light!

But where is Yang? And where is Bork? Do they ride the distant wind?
And where is mystic Bahadur? Will we see him again?
What of Dagan and the others who once for their brothers died?
Their spirit lives within our hearts! With the Great Dark Hoarde they ride!

And we'll ride into the night
And strike with the dawning light!

The full moon shines above us and illuminates the land.
The hoofbeats sound of thunder as they pound across the sand,
And like the wind across the Gobi, or the ghosts of those who've died,
To seek the fortunes of the dawn, with the Great Dark Hoard we ride.
To seek the fortunes of the dawn, with the Great Dark Hoard we ride!

Six Feet of Andelcrag
(sung to the theme from "The Battle of the Bulge")

We'll march into honor through vict'ry in war.
We'll fight with the foe 'til he'll stand and fight no more,
For honor seeks the victor. The vanquished has been conquered by his sword
And six feet of Andelcrag shall be his reward.

For strength is our armor and truth is our shield,
And prowess the sword which through mighty deeds we weild,
And chivalry our standard is. Our foe shall see the might which we have stored
And six feet of Andelcrag shall be his reward.

For there is a spirit which burns in our breast
That calls us in battle to strive to do our best.
Our foe has come to meet his death, and with his death our peace shall be restored,
And six feet of Andelcrag shall be his reward.

Men of Northwoods (Andelcrag version)
(sung to "Men of Harlech")

Men of Northwoods heed the horn call.
Raise the pikes and close the shieldwall.
Soon in battle you shall all fall,
Heroes who've been slain.

Andelcrag has come to meet you
And the swords they weild will greet you.
We are sure we shall defeat you.
Good for us today!

We'll steal all your wagons
And empty all your flagons.
We'll slay your hosts
And make them ghosts,
You'll soon wish that you had encountered dragons.

Soon the glory of your story
Will be told by all your corpses gory,
And your army shall no more be
Here to fight today.

Septentria
(sung to "Oh Canada"- sort of)

Septentria, this is your finest hour
May those you conquer know your power
When you march to war
You need take no more
Than the honor you command.
When the battle's done
Honor shall have won.
Your vict'ry's in your hand
Septentria, Septentria,
Your honor shines out for the word to see.
Septentria, I'd give my life for thee!

The Beer-drinker's Anthem
(sung to "The Star Spangled Banner")

Won't you come sit with us and enjoy a cool beer
Because in just a short while there will be a battle here.
Yes we all like to fight with a pole or a spear
And when "melee!" is called, you will see us drawing near.
But fighting in the hot sun 'til the battle is won
Seem awf'ly hard work, so for now let's have fun.
Let's toast to our host, for we're drinking all his beer,
And when the battle is joined, we'll be passed out right here.

Slay-O
(sung to "Day-O")

(refrain)
Slay-O, Slay-O. Having fun at the Pennsic War.
Slay-O, Slay-O. Having fun at the Pennsic War.

Put on armor, to the battle run!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!
Fight all day in the hot, hot sun!
Having fun at the Pennsic war!

Hey Mr. Marshal Man, come inspect my armor!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!
I've been standin' in the sun ev'ry minute gettin' warmer!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!

(refrain)

Five kill, six kill, seven kill, bunch!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!
And pretty soon we break for lunch!
Having fun at the Pennsic war

When the battle is done I'm gonna go down to the swimmin' hole!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!
Where all the men who like to see the pretty women go!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!

(refrain)

"Round the fire pass the wineskin!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!
That someone has his new mead in!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!

Smoke from the fire rises to the sky!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!
And ev'rybody singin' by and by!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!

(refrain)

Time to leave has come I fear!
Having fun at the PennsicWar!
But we'll be back again next year!
Having fun at the Pennsic War!

(repeat refrain twice)
