"Voos" is the Yiddish (and German) word for "what".
This can be used by itself as "What?"="Voos?", or in a sentance as "What's going on?"="Voos Gemacht?".
I don't speak Yiddish myself, but growing up in Brooklyn you pick up a little here and there.
