Summary
After reviewing all of the schedules, it appears that the best options are:There are a few exceptions. If you are taking the bus the entire route, you may find that Pittsburgh (or possibly Du Bois, PA) are more optimum. The bus connections are:
- Fly to Buffalo (in some cases Toronto), and then drive or take the bus to Bradford. If you intend to take a bus, your flight must arrive at Buffalo airport before 12:30 midday; preferably before 11:30
- Take a bus, drive or carpool to Bradford.
lv Buffalo 14:30
or

Best Public Transportation Options:
Using solely public transportation, the best options are:
- Fly to Buffalo (BUF), and take a bus to Bradford.
- Fly to Bradford Regional Airport (via Cleveland (CLE)), and then arrange ground transportation (typically limousine) to Bradford.
- Make a bus connection through Buffalo, NY, Pittsburgh, PA or Du Bois, PA to Bradford.
The following is based on Jim's explanation of one transportation strategy for people taking public transportation. This may be a useful approach for some people:
- FLYING
- Nearest airport if cost is not an issue: Bradford (BFD). This flight can only be flown to from Cleveland (CLE), so any itiniary you make must go through CLE.
Nearest major airport, which may have substantially lower cost airfares, Buffalo (BUF). If you are renting a car, Buffalo is actually a shorter trip.
- TRAIN
- This requires an overnight stay in Buffalo if coming from NYC or the East Coast. The train is an option for people coming from the west (e.g., Chicago).
- BUS
- Take a bus from wherever you are directly to Bradford. (Depending on where you're coming from, this might be a very long trip.)
This brings us to two basic options:
- Arrive in Buffalo and take ground transportation to Bradford.
- Arrive directly in Bradford (via flight from Cleveland, or via bus from wherever).
The local transportation company has a "Call-a-Bus" program which operates customized routes. This is similar to services offered to seniors and disabled people, but is available to anyone. Cost from the Fullington Trailways bus station is $4. Cost from the Bradford Regional Airport is $27 (per person). Further descriptions are here.
Autreat offers dorm accomodations in shared rooms, with a private room option. For convenience of travel and for people who wish to stay in a commercial hotel, Buffalo and Bradford hotel information is here.
Need help in planning your trip? We have people who do that for you. Our staff includes Autistic volunteers who enjoy perseverating (or at least doing research) about modes of transportation, schedules, travel connections; what have you! (We may or may not have day jobs which are far more productive, but here we find the essence of Nirvana!) Whimsy aside, people are willing to help. You will have to supply a car, or make the reservations yourself, but as far as the overall planning and optimum routes, you couldn't find a better group of people to ask, even if you were going to an IATA convention! For Individual Information, please go to the information list, or email Stan (see bottom of the page). If writing to the list, please identify your post with the tag "[TRANSPORTATION]" included in the subject line. This will reduce list clutter and also allow quick response. (Please also do this if emailing personally, so your email will get the attention it deserves.)
- What we can do
- We can use our experience and knowledge to provide you with good options for travel. This includes descriptions of various travel routes or connections, and information regarding best strategies for finding reasonable fares.
- What we cannot easily do
- We cannot easily find the lowest cost fares for you, although we can pass along information regarding reasonable locations for finding low fares.
We cannot tell you what is absolutely best. We do have recommendations, and may be able to see things in the travel connections that may be useful (e.g., the redeye connections for West Coast travellers mentioned above).
