We've been running ProTools 24 Mix+ for some time now. We interface the system into our Harrison 4032 series console by using 3 RME 8 channel AD/DA convertors. Much of our vocal tracking is done through our Tube Tech Recording Channel into the Crane Song HEDD piece for 24 bit A/D and then into Pro Tools. Our Studer 2" 24 track analog locks up with the computer system and gives us up to 56 tracks if needed.
Mastering in Pro Tools is very smooth. We have the DINR noise reduction/tape hiss removal plug-in as well as our extremely excellent Waves plug-ins. Mastering is fully automated and because of the expanded track capability we can even add tracks to the music at the mastering stage, (ie. background vocals, samples, drum stuff or whatever).
