LinkWatch provides the following two main services:

  1. Monitor web pages to determine the dates when the pages were last modified. Creates lists of pages to monitor. See Sample Link Lists.

  2. Check for broken links, external or internal (i.e. relative links), on hypertext pages located on local storage media. (This program was developed to check the 11,000+ links at the HobbySpace web site.)

Other capabilities include checking bookmarks, adding Last Modified date tags to links on a web page, and copying all links from a web page.

The Help documentation is available here to describe the details of the progam. The sections include:

  • Interface - the graphical user interface.
  • Files - the four file types used with LinkWatch.
  • Link Lists - basics of creating, using and saving lists of links.
  • Tutorials - how-to's for the various operations.
  • Troubleshooting - error messages and possible fixes.
  • Glossary - definitions of commonly used terms in the LinkWatch Help.
