    Unreal Skeletal File Import Panel

    This panel pops up when you are loading sekeltons or bones into an established model in layout. The importer will do its best to attach any bones to their respective weightmaps by name if they so exist.

    UV coordinates are maintained

    Geometry can be loaded directly into Modeler (Layout currently seems to crash when the Scene is saved) . This is done through the typical File Requester as if you were loading a regular object, only switch to 'All' and load in a .PSK file. Weightmaps will be created, and ignore any skelegons that were created - those are erroneous.


    The bone and animation import panel lives in LightWave's Generic Plugins list. This dropdown list can be found under the Display tab, on the panel opened by the Plug-in Options button. The name you're looking for is MRB::Import::UnrealSkel

    NOTE: Long aimations may appear to take forever to load. This is because Layout is trying to update the screen and everything else each time the plugin adds a keyframe. To turn this off (and greatly reduce the amount of time it takes to load animations) witch the Dynamic Update in the General Options panel to 'Off'.
    • Bone Info - load in bone info and apply it to the currently selected model. If no file is chosen, then no bone info will be loaded.
    • Key frames - Where to look for keyframes. This may be the same file as Bone Info it may not. It is always a .PSA file. Motions will be added starting wit hthe current frame.
    • Animation - Which animation to load. Pick one before closing the panel with 'OK'
