Tag to move with - Type in here the name of the surface that is to be used as the anchor point for our target object. I'm using the term 'tag' here because I initially intended to use this with the files imported from Quake3 .MD3 files, but tag can be read as 'first poly of the following surface'.
Target Object - Which object should we anchor? The object in question will have it's origin translated and rotated based on the positions of the first 3 points in the tag poly. You should be able tosee the results in the viewport by dragging the
Now, a few words of warning - this plugin is best described as 'flakey'. It will act weird. This is because I'm messing with the natural order of things in LightWave3D by creating keyframes at a funny time during the render pipeline. CAVEATS:
Turn off dynamic updating in Layout's Display Options panel
Try wo work like this: Turn on the plugin, move the little frame indicator back and forth until it looks like it's working, and then turn the plugin off. It won't look right at first, but eventually it will because you are creating keyframes for each frame you view while the plugin is active. So even after you turn it off, the motion has been 'baked' into the object that is bing moved.
This probably should be the last Displacement plugin active in the list for a given object. I suppose Plugins that just capture points are ok.
This locks the target objects based on local coordinates (not world), so the target object needs to be parented to the object you put the plugin on.
